BODEMEISTER WINS ARKANSAS DERBY BY 9 1/2!

It was a good old-fashioned horse race at Oaklawn Park when Bodemeister went wire to wire to take the 76th running of the $1 million Arkansas Derby on Saturday. No drama, no gimmicks; Bodemeister, a Bob Baffert trainee, simply rolled to the lead and stayed there, widening away to a nine-and-a-half-length lead.

Bodemeister’s convincing victory paved his way to the Kentucky Derby.
