Yes It's True exploded on the national scene, as a runner,
as a sire of sales horses, and as a 2004 Freshman Sire.
Through October, the millionaire Grade I winner had five
stakes horses, four stakes winners, two Graded stakes
winners, was routinely siring six-figure sales offerings,
and reigned as America's Leading Freshman Sire.
On the racetrack, Yes It's True possessed
breathtaking gate-to-wire speed, which took him to 10
stakes victories in 22 starts. He won five of his first
six starts at two, setting or equaling tracks records
in two stakes and winning two other Graded stakes on both
coasts. At three, he won six of his first eight starts,
all graded stakes at different tracks, including the Frank
De Francis Memorial-G1.
As a sire, word spread rapidly that his
sales offerings looked the part, and 15 individuals brought
at least $100,000 before his first juvenile lined up for
a race. Included in that group were a $525,000 Fasig-Tipton
Calder two-year-old and $450,000 OBS March two-year-old.
In April, Yes It's True sired his first winner, who came
within 2/5 of the Hollywood track record. By the third
week of May he sired his first stakes winner and has never
looked back.
By the end of May, he sired two new 14+
length winners, and in June, got two more stakes victories.
July brought two more impressive winners, his first Graded
stakes winner, and a $128,333 average for his Fasig-Tipton
Kentucky yearlings.
In August at Saratoga, he debuted a real
head turner, Proud Accolade, who would run the second
fastest Beyer for any 2-year-old at the meeting in breaking
his maiden by 7 1/2. Proud Accolade would win his next
Saratoga outing by 5 1/2 before taking the $500,000 Champagne
S.-G1 in the fall at Belmont.
Through the last week of October, Yes It's
True had sired 13 winners, seven debut winners and five
stakes winners, for first crop earnings in excess of $1,200,000.
Yes It's True has been booked full every
year at stud, and has a strong contingent already on the
ground and in the pipeline. Pedigree-wise, he is a Bold
Ruler stallion through Raja Baba and is entirely free
of Northern Dancer, Mr Prospector, Seattle Slew, Secretariat,
In Reality, Roberto, Ribot, and Damascus.
A sound, fast millionaire, and the Leading
Freshman Sire of 2004. Yes It's True stands his first
season at Three Chimneys in 2005.
