Despite wins in the G2 Fountain of Youth and G1 Florida Derby, Thunder
Gulch was dismissed at odds of nearly 25-1 in the 1995 Kentucky Derby.
Bettors and racing fans would never underestimate the colt again. He
would go on to post one of the better three year old campaigns of the
last 25 years, also winning the G1 Belmont, G2 Swaps, G1 Travers and
G2 Kentucky Cup Classic over older runners.
