Social Probation was bred in Kentucky by Chris and Kirt Cahill. Social Probation is by Jules and out of the Olympio mare, Satinet. He was born and raised at Needham/Betz Farm in Lexington, KY and broken at Wavertree Farm Ocala, FL. Owned by Old School Stable, Chris and Kirt Cahill Lexington, KY, James McCord Houston, TX, and Paul Rothfuss Williamsport, PA. As the stable name suggests, the owners are all fraternity men. Chris Cahill and James McCord are Kappa Alpha alumnus of Southwestern University, Kirt Cahill is also a Kappa Alpha alumna of Western Kentucky and Paul Rothfuss is a Phi Delta Theta from Gettysberg College. All proceeds from hat sales will be donated to respective fraternity charities. Social Probation is trained by Carl Nafzger. The racing silks are Ivory and garnet with the Cahill family brand encircled on the back. Social Probation is now undefeated in two starts. He broke his maiden going 5f at Churchill Downs on June 26 swinging 6 wide and closing over 7 lengths in the stretch to win. He came back on July 22 racing 5.5f at Ellis Park in a stalking position to win an allowance race. Plans are to map out a program of stake races culminating in the Breeders Cup Juvenile at Lone Star on October 30.
