Horsehat.com Fast Fact: Culinary’s
grandsire, Wild Again, won the very first Breeders’
Cup Classic at Hollywood Park in 1984.
Culinary is not the most fashionably bred filly in the world.
Afterall, her sire stands for only $1,500. She was not the
most expensive auction purchase either, bringing only $25,000
at the Fasig-Tipton Eastern Two Year Old in Training sale.
But after two wins to begin her career, Culinary is on the
verge of a five star rating.
She won her first start by eleven lengths going one mile
at Arlington Park in mid-August. Five weeks later, at the
same track and distance, she won the G3 Arlington-Washington
Lassie over Runway Model. Culinary’s win tasted good
that day and got even better with age, as a few weeks later
Runway Model won the G2 Alicbiades at Keeneland.
