 Castledale
with Jose Valdivia Jr. aboard won the Santa Anita Derby at
30:1 odds. He will certainly be more respected in the kentucky
Derby.
Castledale was discovered and purchased by his co-owner
Frank Lyons, while on vacation in Ireland last year. Bred
to be a turf horse, his trainer Jeff Mullins suggested the
switch to dirt which has been a resounding success so far.
 Castledale
is by Peintre Celebre, the 1997 winner of the Prix de l’Arc
de Triomphe, and out of the Silver Hawk
mare Louju. Greg Knee is the majority owner.
